Michelle Bettin has enjoyed a diverse career as a professional dancer, educator, and arts advocate. She has performed professionally with Ballet Theatre of Maryland, Columbus Dance Theatre, and Manassas Ballet Theatre, where she met her husband and dance partner, Jack Bettin.

At the age of nineteen, Michelle was a semi-finalist in the XII International Ballet Competition in Trujillo, Peru. Later that year, she returned to Peru to share her passion for dance by teaching American jazz dance in Lima and Arequipa.

Michelle received her early training through Maryland Ballet Theatre and the Georgetown School of Ballet. She is a Cum Laude graduate of Towson University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography and has received a certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Throughout her career, Michelle has continued to expand her knowledge of classical ballet pedagogy. She studied the Vaganova ballet methodology under Mark Mejia and Linda Kintz and received certification through The Classical Dance Alliance. In 2024, she had the honor of studying at the Paris Opera Ballet, further enriching her understanding of classical ballet traditions. Michelle is also certified in Progressive Ballet Technique and has completed the Character Dance Curriculum through the Bolshoi Academy.

Michelle has served as Academy Director for Metropolitan Ballet Theatre, a nonprofit arts organization, and has been on faculty with The Washington School of Ballet, Maryland Youth Ballet, and Joy of Motion.

Michelle is honored to serve as the Artistic Director of Interwoven Arts VA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting artists and disciplines while creating new opportunities for community engagement through art and expression.

In the summer of 2026, Michelle and Jack had the extraordinary opportunity to lead their students on an immersive dance experience in Paris, where they trained with the Mozart Conservatoire and AFA Danse. During this exchange, Michelle and Jack were also invited to teach French dancers at the conservatoire, creating a meaningful cultural and artistic connection through dance.
